Bath Dog Training Club news

Wednesday 14th November 2007

Local instructor Sarah Fisher has kindly donated her time to talk about the Tellington Touch theory for dogs on behalf of DeedNotBreed, a UK charity campaigning against and raising awareness of Breed Specific Legislation, and specifically addressing the problems of 'pit bull amnesties'. The talk is being organised by Bath Dog Training Club.

The Tellington Touch is unique training method that uses body work and simple ground work exercises to improve behaviour, health and well being.

Sarah will be talking about her experience of using Tellington Touch with dogs. As well as providing day courses and private tuition at her farm in Farnborough, near Bath, Sarah works with the Holly Hedge Sanctuary and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. She appeared in a series called Talking to Animals for ITV1 and is currently working on the One Show for BBC1.

Becky Gallagher, secretary for Bath Dog Training Club, said “This is a wonderful opportunity for people to gain an insight into this hands-on method of communicating with our dogs. I am looking forward to trying the methods out on my dogs and will be encouraging all dog lovers to come and listen to Sarah who is an acclaimed expert in this field. We are really lucky and delighted that Sarah is willing to donate her time and experience.’’

Bath Dog Training Club is hosting the talk on Wednesday 14th November at 7pm Culverhay School, Rush Hill, Bath. Refreshments will be available. Tickets are £5  (concessions and under 14’s £3.50) payable on the door from 6.30pm. Alternatively buy them in advance on Tuesday 7pm-8.30pm at St Mark’s Community Hall, Widcombe, where Bath Dog Training Club trains every week. All proceeds will be donated to DeedNotBreed.
